Founded
2002

De Politieacademie werd op 1 april 2002 ingesteld bij de Wet op het LSOP en het politieonderwijs. Zij kwam voort uit het Landelijk Selectie- en Opleidingsinstituut Politie (1992) en de Nederlandse Politie Academie en verzorgt het politieonderwijs.

De Politieacademie is het kennis- en opleidingsinstituut voor de Nederlandse politie en een ZBO onder JenV. Ze verzorgt het volledige politieonderwijs, van basisopleiding voor agent tot leiderschapsprogramma's en masteropleidingen, en doet toegepast onderzoek voor politiepraktijk. Opleidingen vinden plaats op locaties in Apeldoorn, Amsterdam en elders; jaarlijks stromen duizenden studenten in.
